A wife, a mom, a daughter, a sister and a successful small business owner in Lone Tree, Marissa Harmon loves her family and building something that will make her daughters proud. She is co-owner of Roots & Mane, a luxury hair salon that is known for making their clients feel like part of the family-run business. She’s been recognized as a leader in the hair industry, often being a visionary for how to pivot during changing times. Not to mention, her clients stay put because of the service they receive, the exceptional results and because of how supported they feel when they are in Marissa’s chair.
After 20 years of doing hair, she knows that connections and relationships are the most important part of her job, ensuring clients feel seen and heard. The best part is…this is exactly how she will approach her role as mayor. She does all this effortlessly and beautifully, engaging with everyone she comes in contact with. She has proven this during her time serving as a City of Lone Tree Council Member, connecting with everyone she meets at community events.
Marissa brings that same energy home to focus on raising two elementary-age daughters, Skylar and Briana. She believes in setting a strong example for her daughters to get involved and invest in their community as a family together. Her and her husband, Chris, have completed the Citizens Police Academy in Lone Tree. And often, her daughters have joined in her community efforts to contribute to helping others. It’s a family effort through and through.
Together, the Harmons enjoy all that the great outdoors have to offer here in Colorado. You’ll often find them rafting on rivers all summer long, camping out along the way. During the winter months, up the mountain they go skiing and snowboarding. Getting outside and away from screens is of utmost importance.
Marissa and Chris have been Lone Tree residents for 12 years, loving all this city has to offer. Whether its a morning hike on the bluffs, a weekend show at Lone Tree Arts Center or a lazy Sunday at Cook Creek Pool, Lone Tree is their home.
