Serving my Lone Tree Community on City Council has been full of success stories and rewarding moments. My time serving has also brought some valuable life lessons that I want to share with you today.
Unveiling the Full Story
One major lesson from my time on city council is that the surface is rarely the whole story. I’ve learned to delve into issues, educating myself comprehensively to unearth hidden complexities. Focusing on solutions that resonate with everyone has proven to be where the most impactful work is done.
Time Commitment and Reward
Serving on city council demands a significant time commitment, but the reward is substantial! The more you invest in building relationships, understanding and addressing issues, the greater the positive impact is on the community.
Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone
A crucial aspect of this journey has been pushing boundaries. Stepping out of my comfort zone in social settings, actively participating in conversations, asking questions and contributing to my role with determination has been essential. My willingness to engage has opened doors to valuable insights and connections.
These lessons could really be applied to anything in life, right? Taking the time to sit down and reflect is where wonderful things happen. It’s been such a journey serving on city council thus far and I’m extremely hopeful for the future. Lone Tree has a special place in my heart and I thrive in a role where I can serve my community.
